In two days I will be on my way to Los Angeles to spend the next ~two weeks with my cousins, I will be writing about that upon my return. This summer has been very busy for both Sarah and I so unfortunately has not provided much time for travel, however, we are both looking into changing that! Sarah has been working for a company in the city this summer and I have been juggling several different jobs this summer trying to make some more money to travel.
I did, however, attend Lollapalooza about a week and a half ago in Grant Park. I have been going to Lollapalooza for the past 5 years and although I absolutely HATE crowds it has found itself to always be an interesting experience. Although, it does not compare to my favorite music “festival” Riot Fest. In the past I have seen artists such as Eminem, Lana Del Rey, Alt J, and this year I added Paul McCartney to the list. The only issue I have faced several times while attending Lollapalooza is getting too drunk.. OOPS. The sun and heat + the wine that you can buy for like seven bucks a glass does not equal a very good time, I’ll tell you that. This year I attended the festival Friday and Sunday, seeing artists: Alt J, Alabama Shakes, and Paul McCartney on Friday then on Sunday I saw A$AP Rocky, Florence and the Machines, Bassnectar and Of Monsters and Men. Florence and the Machines performance was outstanding, it happened during a lightning storm. Paul McCartney obviously was the most memorable performance though – even though I was a tad drunk and don’t remember much of it. OOPS…. The biggest peeve I have about Lollapalooza (besides the porta potties and the crowds) is that it is impossible to even see the artist THAT up close… I mean unless you want to karate chop your way through the crowd – the closest i’ve ever been to a performer was at Eminem the first time he performed at Lollapalooza. But, for the price it is a great concert to go to if you want to see a lot of artists who are pretty popular in one weekend.!
Going further….
Sarah and I have been looking into several different opportunities to travel, live, and volunteer in other countries. We have discussed either going to India to volunteer and help children there OR we are looking into moving to France to teach. I would love to do either (BOTH!) but living in France has been a dream of mine since I had first visited the country at like twelve.
I am hopeful that either or both of these opportunities may present themselves but in case they do not I have plenty of trips already planned including:
Visting one of my best friends who has been accepted into a Master’s Program in Australia !
Colorado to visit my good friend Karli
Seattle
London once again to see my boyfriend Elliot, with a side trip to Paris, Croatia, Hungary and Belgium 🙂
Whichever adventure presents itself to us next, no matter how big or small, I’m sure I will love it, and write about the great food and culture of that place.

I’m 100% down for living in Teaching in France. I’m still applying for jobs in the US to make my dad happy, but if I got a paid position in France or England I’d be there in a heartbeat. P.S. Sorry I never write, I don’t travel 😦
