Be forewarned, this is not going to be one of my best entries for the time being, I had promised myself I would post a new entry before the weekend is over – however, now it is almost midnight and I work tomorrow morning so I thought I would write a quick entry on Brighton, England and hopefully edit it later on this week. Well, here goes nothing.
I traveled to Brighton, England with SARAH (Who has been MIA from this blog site quite often, and I will have to physically force her to post later this week when I see her in Florida) and our CEA study abroad group. We had to wake up super early and take a train from Victoria Station to Brighton. I was most likely very hungover, along with almost half of my colleagues who I was with.
We had a guided tour around Brighton, and visited the Royal Pavilion which is a very beautiful palace, we explored around and had tea and scones which were delicious – but, I was full after and it turns out we had a lunch which was paid for -_- . After the palace we went to the harbor, this was my favorite part since I love places like Coney Island (NY) and Santa Monica Pier (CA) this area of Brighton reminded me so much of two of my favorite places except it was kind of cold and really windy. We then went to a restaurant on the Brighton Pier, and everyone ate fish and chips but I gave mine away and decided to go exploring with my friend Jenna instead. There were a bunch of rides at the end of the pier, which looked very dangerous especially because of how windy it was. Jenna and I went into the arcade and were playing some games until she started shaking one to make the coins drop and an alarm sounded so we had to leave.
We continued to walk around the area, we saw live bands and stopped in a candy shop before heading back to the train station to head back towards London. I did not spend too much time in Brighton, (less than a day) but it’s definitely worth a visit and a train ticket is very inexpensive. So if you find yourself in London, and want a change of atmosphere I would certainly recommend spending a day in Brighton 🙂
