- Go Play with Puppies!
You can do this by volunteering at a shelter, or simply going to a shelter or somewhere that sells dogs and acting like you want to buy one. (or really buy one) There also are programs now for dog sitting (where you can get paid) or volunteer dog walking. - Shedd Aquarium
OR the Field museum, OR science museum! The shedd just so happens to be my favorite, and if you have a library card you can get a free pass! Make sure to check out the sharks 🙂 - ChristkindalMarket
Probably my FAVORITE thing in the winter! Have some potato pancakes, bavarian pretzels and schnitzel! If I can’t be in Germany enjoying the fantastic beer and food I may as well make the best of it here…. - Ice Skating at Maggie Daley Park
I hate ice skating, but a lot of people like it SO… - See the zoo lights
You can do this at Brookfield or Lincoln Park if you’re strapped for cash, I like Brookfield tho - Art Institute of Chicago
Because it’s one of the “number one” things to see in Chicago, and you probably never have the time to visit – when’s a better time to head over than when it’s too cold to do anything else - A marathon, The Ugly X-Mas Sweater run or Santa Hustle 5k
- Almost as good as Broadway
go the Goodman theater or one of the other several theaters in Chicago and see a play (Book of Mormon, Matilda, A Christmas Carol) or just go to a comedy club and watch some stand up. (There is also always the nutcracker ballet!) - Navy Pier’s Winter Wonderfest
Pretty sure this is for kid’s but Hey, why not? - Get Ghirardelli hot chocolate & X-mas Shop at the Water Tower
- Visit the Walnut Room at Marshall Fields (Yes, I know “Macy’s)
- Try out a new restaurant
A few Nando’s Peri Peri restaurants have opened up in the past year, Nando’s is a chain that originated in South Africa and eventually made its way to Europe and now the United States! When I lived in London Nando’s was the first restaurant I ate in. (Also try: Kuma’s, BRGRbelly, the Allis) - Try indoor sports
Such as, golfing or whirleyball. Personally, I dislike sports with the exception of swimming or running, but if you’re the type of person who likes being competitive and getting sweaty – go for it. - Find a groupon for wine and paint
Pretty self explanatory, don’t forget to have a DD or uber - Hop on a plane and go somewhere warm – but take me with you!
