A Bucket list of Hotels, Hostels and AirBnB’s

I haven’t decided if I want to turn this blog post into several blog posts, one for each continent or if I want to keep it limited to just Europe.  When I lived in and traveled around Europe I stayed in many different places: boats, hotels, hostels, airbnbs, etc.  So I thought it would be fun to research some places to stay and to write about hostels and hotels from my own experience.  The places I am mentioning are not just because they were cheap or half-way decent but only because they are different and would provide an interesting experience.

Europe:

Amsterdam, Netherlands:
Modern House Boat AirBnb, because staying on a boat is cool and fun, okay?
The VanGogh Hostel: Oh if only I had known about this place when I was in Amsterdam!  I have such absolute adoration for Van Gogh!

Barcelona, Spain:
Barcelona Central Garden, this is more of a peaceful and relaxing hostel than a party hostel but it has a jacuzzi and pizza & Sangria nights
Airbnbs:  http://theculturetrip.com/europe/spain/articles/10-most-beautiful-apartments-on-airbnb-in-gr-cia-advertorial/
These are some of the most awesome airbnb’s I have seen!
In Spain I stayed at Amistat Beach Hostel, it was really adorable, close to the beach and fun.

Belgium:
Floris Hotel Ustel, this is a really nice hotel I stayed in in Brussels, It was a fair hotel price for a huge room! The only problem was be careful with the shower because I accidentally flooded half of the room by leaving the shower door open.
Train Hostel, self-explanatory
BXLROOM, really cool decorations and decor, really pretty and walking distance to everything

Budapest, Hungary:
Lavender Circus Hostel: This is by far my favorite looking hostel!  If I ever have the chance to visit Hungary this is where I will be staying.
Retox Party Hostel:  I mean.. the name says it all.

Dublin, Ireland:
Sky backpackers hostel, some really awesome artists (cough cough Bowie) have recorded here before, isn;t that reason enough to want to stay here.
Ashford Castle Hotel: Who doesn’t want to be able to say they’ve stayed in a castle!?

London, England:
The Water tower AirBnB,
The Georgian Hotel, also known as the Harry Potter Hotel – it’s a bit pricey but come on, when else will you get the chance to stay in a Harry Potter Hotel.
St. Pancrea’s Clock Tower AirBnb, i WISH i could stay here!! you get to stay in actual St. Pancreas with an amazing view… google it and tell me you don’t want to stay here.
The Sherlock Holmes Hotel, I stayed here with my mom and sister while they were visiting London and it is really cute and in a prime location.

Paris, France:
The Shark Tank AirBnB, because who the fuck doesn’t  want to sleep with sharks!?
St. Christopher’s Inn hostel, I love this hostel – it isn’t that unusual but it is inexpensive, in a great location, and has a great party atmosphere.  I had so much fun staying here.

Berlin, Germany:
Das Stu Hotel – I mean, I can’t even imagine how expensive this place is but it is breathtakingly beautiful from the lobby.

Munich, Germany: No recommendations… I stayed with a friend when I visited Germany… but Munich is beautiful 😀

Prague, Czech Republic:
The Madhouse Hostel,
Arpacay Backpacker’s Hostel:  I stayed here with a few friends and not only was it like 10$ a night but we had a huge room to ourselves, and it felt like we had rented an adorable little cabin for ourselves.  It was only a short walk from the palace.

Split, Croatia:
Hvar Tower: This tower dates back to the middle ages and the interior looks really awesome.
AIRBNB Search! I stayed in a really amazing airbnb inside Diocletian’s Palace for about thirty bucks a night, and if you just search airbnb in Split, Croatia, there are tons of other airbnbs inside the palace!

Stockholm, Sweden:
The Red Boat hostel:  Okay, staying on a boat may not be as original as I would like to think, the room was very small but it was an awesome experience and fairly inexpensive.
Bus Home: It’s actually pretty big as far as portable homes go, and it even has a balcony!
Jumbo Stay hostel: okay, now I am sure after traveling a lot one may not want to stay in another airplane but it’s so unusual it actually seems pretty cool… plus you get a bed instead of just sleeping in your seat.

If you’re staying in Greece almost every hotel, even four-stars are really cheap because our economy sucks, and i know I didn’t include Italy because I will be traveling there in two months so I can write enough about Italy (again) then.

And if money isn’t a make or break factor for you (lucky you!) then check out this website which has really awesome hotels.. http://www.unique-hotels.eu
